When searching our library catalog, URSUS, MARVEL! or the Internet, try these keywords and subject terms.
These are only suggestions, don’t limit yourself to these terms, because there are just too many to name here. And check your spelling!Image:

In the Library

The Hall-Dale Middle/High School library uses the Dewey Decimal system of cataloging, and so do many local libraries. You can search our catalog at home using the following address:
http://192.168.1.5:9006/InfoCentre/LibraryQuick.do
The following Dewey numbers will help guide your search:

500-510 Math & Science
600-609 Inventions
BIO ARC Biographies of Archimedes

There are too many books on the various topics to name here—use InfoCentre to search for appropriate titles.

Reference Resources

REF 603 ENC Encyclopedia of Technology and Applied Science
REF 909 TEC Technology in World History

Nettrekker

Hall-Dale subscribes to Nettrekker, and it is a good resource for this project. Go to http://www.nettrekker.com/, go to “d.i.” login and log in using Hall-Dale’s username and password (see Mrs. Bachelder or Ms. Thomas for this information). Click on the Middle tab at the top of the page, then search Archimedes Try the High School tab at the top of the page, also, and you’ll get some different sites. Tons of info!!

Marvel! is a collection of databases featuring newspapers, magazines, and journals that are free to Maine users thanks to the sponsorship of the Maine State Library. Go to http://libraries.maine.edu/mainedatabases/ —you may need to log in with an e-mail address and password if you are searching from home (you’ll only need to register once, then Marvel will recognize your computer the next time). We recommend the following databases for this project: Academic Search Premier, MAS Ultra-School Edition, MasterFile Premier, Middle Search Plus, and Student Research Center. See Mrs. Bachelder or Ms. Thomas for help.
