Dylan Sirois
School Board Representative
To all Students,
During the School board meeting on November 7 there was a proposed Cooperative agreement with Capital area Technical Center. This agreement began the formation of an inter School advisory committee giving Schools two representatives their Superintendent and a school board member. This committee would help to advise the courses and use of the building as well as the distribution of equipment within the facility. The School Board is pushing for the CATC facility to open it’s self to evening courses. The facility is only used during the day so if possible it would really allow more education for everyone. This Cooperative agreement must be passed by all concerning School Boards.
There was a gift of $300 given by Maine Golf and Tennis Academy for Hall-Dales Special Education. This gift came with “no strings Attached”, so can be used for any number of things. At Octobers meeting there were two very generous gifts given to Hall-Dale. One was a gift of $40,000 given by Team Hall-Dale. The Second gift was a piece of art, Jeanne and Stephen Langsdorf presented a foam board replica of the actual work of art by local artist Cris Cart. They requested that with the 6’ by 60’ piece of art there be a plaque honoring the artist. Hall-Dale is very lucky to have such a caring community and such a great appreciation of the arts.
The Regional Planning committee has been hard at work with the School Consolidation protect the State has started Hall-Dale, as well as many other schools, has been working to get ahead of the state, for it is better to be fully prepared and planned then caught by surprise. We are trying to recreate the old Union 51. Very Important! There will be a meeting for all Tax payers and parents of Dresden, Farmingdale, Hallowell, Monmouth, and Richmond Schools seeking information on the School Consolidation. This meeting will take place Wednesday November 14 at 7:00 pm at Monmouth Academy Cafeteria.
Respectfully Submitted,
Student School Board Rep. Dylan Sirois
