What is the Student Senate

What Is the Student Senate?

The Student Senate has been newly designed so that the Student Body can be well-informed and become active members of the school. Student Senate has worked hard at connecting all branches of “Government” in the school. We are involved in the School Board, Leadership Team and meet with the Principal on a regular basis. This year we hope to be a dynamic group, allowing the Student Body a voice as well as direct interaction, in School Politics. We are nearing a time of great change for all parts of Hall-Dale. Standard Based Grading is a hot topic in the community as well as school consolidation. YOU are more greatly affected than any other part of the community yet you have the least say. The Student Senate will be a strong avenue of communication and with your support we can make Hall-Dale a better school in so many ways.

This first trimester in the Senate has been slow moving but we have at last adopted a strong STUDENT SENATE HANDBOOK;The first drafts of this handbook were proposed by Student School Board Representative Dylan Sirois. In a link below you can see the STUDENT SENATE HANDBOOK and it will be kept fully updated on this website. Any student can see how things are run as well as learn about the Student Senate if you wish to run for a position. This is the first year the Student Senate has adopted a hard document in 17 years and we will continue to grow and learn.
