Hall-Dale High School Invited to Participate in the New England Secondary School Consortium’s League of Innovative Schools.
Mark Kostin of the Great Schools Partnership serves as the Maine Liaison to the New England Secondary School Consortium (NESSC). In his invitation to Hall-Dale High School he states, “As one of Maine’s most forward thinking and moving secondary schools, I am asking you, your superintendent, your leadership team, your faculty and your board to consider becoming a part of the NESSC’s League of Innovative Schools.”
He continues, “We are seeking up to six secondary schools from Maine to join the League this fall and an additional six to join in the spring. Together, this group will join forces with similarly deeply committed schools from Connecticut, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. Collectively, this group of 60 schools will be able to share ideas and resources, learn from and support one another, and benefit from both the cover and support so vital to truly transforming secondary schools so that our graduates are prepared for the demands and responsibilities of 21st century higher education, careers and citizenship. As we work hard to increase the graduation rate in our state and ensure graduates are well prepared to continue their training and learning, we know we have much to learn from your exemplary and pioneering efforts. We also believe that membership in the League of Innovative Schools will provide you with specific resources and supports that will help you continue your forward progress.”
At its meeting of September 8, 2011, the RSU 2 Board of Directors approved Hall-Dale High School’s participation in the League of Innovative Schools. All of us at HDHS are not only proud to have been asked to join the LIS but we are also eager to participate. The benefits of being able to have deep and enriching conversations with other schools that are transforming secondary education will only enhance our efforts here at Hall-Dale.
