Standards Based/Student Centered Demonstration

Would you like to see a demonstration of what a standards based/student-centered classroom actually looks like from the point of view of a learner? If yes, then you are cordially invited to an informal evening of the Standards Based/Student Centered Classroom Demonstration on October 19th from 6-8PM. We will begin in the theatre with an overview of our model of instructional planning for standards based instruction. Everyone will be led through the process of creating a code of conduct and the common procedural practices of every class. Next, participants will move through a rotation of 4 classrooms from a variety of disciplines and levels from middle to high school where teachers will walk participants through a unit or lesson similar to what they use with their learners. We’ll also leave some time for asking questions and brainstorming ideas for the higher levels. We will finish with a wrap-up and debrief session back in the theatre.
